Is Spyware Nuker safe? Read
Our Review.
Did you know that 27.3
million Americans have been
the unwitting victims of
identity theft over the past
5 years? Including 9.9
million just this past year
alone. Perhaps you’re
wondering what the
correlation is between
identity theft and spyware
that may be on your
computer. Let me explian
further.
You see, many of the spyware
applications released are
intended to get information
about you. Some of the
information collected is
fairly harmless (although an
invasion of privacy) such as
spyware that monitors your
surfing habits and how many
times you may vist a
particular website, usually
done via cookies.
Unfortunately there are many
spyware applications that
are far more insidious, and
are made to grab certain
information about you,
including your social
security number, email, home
address and banking details.
Once a unauthorised third
party has this information
there is very little from
stopping them taking your
identity and using it for
their own malicious ends
which would cuase you much
heartache. As you can see it
pays to make sure you don’t
already have spyware on your
computer and to stop it from
ever getting afterwards. You
can do this with a spyware
program such as Spyware
Nuker.

Spyware Nuker are confident
in there software, so
confirdent infact that they
will give you their pop-up
blocking software free of
charge if Spyware Nuker
doesn’t locate the spyware
and adware on your computer.
Once you start Spyware Nuker
up you are invited to join
their Spyshield team. The
Spyshield team is made up of
users who help identify the
latest spyware and adware
infections to come along and
report them to the Spyware
Nuker team. This is
something I haven’t seen
made avilable by any other
spyware removal product and
I can see it being a great
benefit on helping keep on
top of the ever changing
spyware applications that
get released.
The Spyware Nuker interface
is simple and clean and
split in to 5 different
tabs. The start tab is where
you scan your system for
spyware and adware problems.
You can select which drives
and folders you want scanned
from here and also if you
just want a quick scan of
your system or a deeper,
more lengthy scan. Depending
on the size of your drives
either scan could take a
while.
Once the program has scanned
your drives you click the
generate report button and a
browser window opens lists
the name, type of infection
found, location and
explaination of what the
infection is. I actually
like the way this report is
generated in it’s own
seperate browser window
compared to many of the
other spyware programs
results pages which are
displayed in the program
itself and harder to read.
Alerts is another tab in the
program, this will tell you
if registry values have
changed or if your browser
homepage has been hijacked
by spyware. A nice feature
that so that you quickly see
any problems that may have
occured on your system.
In the exclude tab you can
add files, folder, programs
that you don’t want to have
accidently scanned and
removed by Spyware Nuker.
Finally Spyware Nuker has a
restore tab which give you
the ability to restore any
applications accidently
marked by Spyware Nuker for
deletion which is a good
safeguard.
Spyware Nuker has other
options as well such as been
able to start the program
when windows starts, create
log files and backups, an IE
monitor, which keeps tabs on
your IE browser and will
alert you if any changes
occur to it. Active
protection is another
notable feature, when Active
protection is enabled
Spyware Nuker XT tracks
execution of every program
in the system and notifies
you if a program being
started is a potential
threat. If a threat is
detected then Spyware Nuker
will pop up a message
offering an option to
prevent the suspicious
program from running.
Finally in Spyware Nuker you
can set the program up to
scan at any time of the
hour, day or week with the
scheldue feature.
I thought overall that
Spyware Nuker was a solid
spyware and adware removal
program. It has all the
features you need to get rid
of any nasty spyware stuff
lurking on your system and
will added features such as
Active protection you can be
sure that you will have
little trouble in the future
will anybody stealing your
data or invading your
privacy.

Spyware Nuker has very quick
scanning features.
Spyware Nuker has some good
advance options such as
quarantine and host
blocking.
